Hoff sending off a disgrace

Mick McCarthy has blasted referee Stuart Attwell for sending off Stefan Maierhofer during the Everton match.

Maierhofer was only on the pitch 10 minutes and managed to pick up two yellow cards.

The first was soft and week in week out you`ve seen a referee either wave away a player or book him.

The second was stupid and due to the red card coming from a second booking, we're unable to appeal which leaves him unavailable for the game against Aston Villa.

"I think it was harsh, bordering on downright disgraceful to be honest. If anything, Tim Howard was very fortunate not to be walking off the pitch." McCarthy told the Express & Star.

Vital Wolves Comment: Got to agree with Mick, The Hoff as he has become known, simply followed through and gently bumped into Howard due to his own momentum.

While Howard, deliberately ran after Maierhofer to strike him to the back of neck.

So someone tell me where the justice is in that?

The second yellow was utterly ridiculous.
