Legend Bull claims Villa got lucky

The legend that is Steve Bull believes that Aston Villa got lucky last week.

'We might only have taken a point against Villa last Saturday, and not all three, but I was still delighted by what I saw. Let`s not forget, our 'friends` from up the road arrived at Molineux having just beaten Chelsea and went back to Birmingham delighted to have returned with so much as a point.' Bull wrote in his weekly column in the Express & Star.

It was a good performance that more than deserved a point and will help to add confidence following the game against Everton the week before.

But Bull went on to add that in his opinion, the decision to not award a penalty on Kevin Doyle cost us all three points: 'yes, a draw wasn`t a bad result for us. But the more I think about that game, the more I think that we could have won it.

'Had the referee awarded us that blatant penalty in the first-half, the result could have been very different.'

Vital Wolves Comment: In a way I`m looking forward to getting back on the pitch and putting the Villa game behind us.

We would have took a point before the game and that's what we got, if the penalty decision had cost us a point then I`d still be cursing it. But as it is and as the week has gone on I`m far more relaxed about it!

Are you guys still banging on about last weekend?!

Lads, get real. If it wasn't for a stupid and uneccessary challenge by Sidwell you would have LOST. You had zero goal threat in the 2nd half, domiinaste by a Villa team who played very badly. I agree it probably was a penalty for Dunne's challenge. It also could have been a penalty when Carew had his shirt tugged and was forced to the ground. We were denied a stonewall penalty against Chelsea and had a very harsh one given against us v Sunderland. Things even themselves out. Get on with it. You got a decent point. Look forward to the next game. Don't become a bunch of whingers.

I agree with the comment on the end of the article that these villa boys obviously didn't have the ability read. No one is whingeing boys.

I'll put my hands up there and admit that I didn't digest the final paragraph. I must have been distracted by the sheer disbelief that someone was still banging on about last weekend.
