Kevin Doyle and his Republic of Ireland team mates World Cup dream is over, thanks to a cheating Thierry Henry.
The former Arsenal and now Barcelona striker, controlled the ball with his hand before playing the ball across goal to William Gallas.
That one extra time goal was enough for France to qualify for the World Cup at the expense of the Republic of Ireland.
There was no apology from Henry after the match, simply stating: 'I played it, the ref allowed it. It would have been better to do it another way, but I am not the ref.'
While Wolves striker Doyle added: 'It is sickening. I am sure Henry did not expect to get away with it because it was so obvious.'
'The linesman had the best view, apart from Shay Given.
'It is difficult. We are all gutted. You do not blame the player if he can get away with it. It's nearly a natural reaction.'
Vital Wolves Comment: I wonder what UEFA president and French compatriot Michel Platini thinks?
