Wolves let the fans and gaffer down

Stephen Ward spoke openly after the embarrassing 1-0 defeat to neighbours Birmingham at the weekend.

The game has left some Wolves fans asking whether we should stick by manager Mick McCarthy, but Ward believes it was the players who let the club down.

"We know we let the gaffer and the fans down, because we`re the ones who wear the shirts and these are the games we need to win if we`re going to stay in the Premier League.' Ward told Express & Star.

He continued: "We never performed and we weren`t good enough. We need to reflect on this game and talk through what we did, but then put it to the back of our minds.'
