'If It's Football, It's Vital'

McCarthy owes us an apology

The Wolverhampton Wanderers supporters deserve an apology from gaffer Mick McCarthy following the Manchester United shambles.

That is our view at Vital Wolves and a view apparently shared by many Wolves fans, especially those that made the trip to Old Trafford last night.

'Wolves sold out their allocation, paid £42 each plus the time and cost of travelling, and my first reaction when I saw 10 changes and players playing out of position was, I thought, grossly disrespectful.' Arthur Williams of North West Wolves told the BBC.

We may not have expected to get a result against United, but at least against Arsenal and Chelsea where we were rolled over we still fielded our full strength side which gave us a chance of pulling off an upset.

Following the recent results over Bolton and Spurs, we were beginning to feel like we had taken a couple of steps forward. But now with one team selection it feels we have taken five back.

"What is worrying is how the decision to send out what was effectively a team of sacrificial lambs went down in the dressing room - and the pressure that it has placed on the players who will be recalled on Sunday to win." Charles Ross, editor of the Wolves fanzine ALOB told the Express & Star.

The white flag was waved even before the whistle. Strange, seeing you had a magnificent chance to trouble a creaky United defence.

he owes u f@ck all other than to try and keep you up in any way he sees fit. I think alot of people have lost touch with reality, as you most likely would have got beat whatever after the effort the players put out on saturday. As a Pompey fan, i would take a 9-1 thumping (and we may well get one tonight in sw london) as wigan got to win two matches on the bounce. its all about the season not one offs, and don't moan about being kept in the dark over things (like team selection) as no one can compete with us on that subject!

"Super Bock 1898" - WELL SAID...! I totally agree. If we stay up (Which we will...!) I'd love to see how many fan's would like to trade in a second consecutive Premier League Season for a re-match at Old Trafford - Give your head a wobble get behind the Team / Club / Establishment - Whatever you want to call it....... it is a hell of a lot more than 1 set of XI players and one game!!!!!!
