'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Vital Wolves: Win over Burnley - The Verdict

He may not have been looking for it, but Mick McCarthy was well and truly vindicated for his Manchester United team selection with this result.

Much to the annoyance of the football community and those Vital Football users from Tottenham and Burnley, McCarthy's plan paid off.

The Wolves gaffer made 9 changes ahead of the game, bringing back the majority of the squad who defeated Tottenham.

Nenad Milijas got the game going with a goal on the quarter of an hour mark and Kevin Doyle then put points safely in the bag when he put us two nil up

'I'm not looking for vindication by it, I'm looking for points,' McCarthy told the BBC.

He went on to add: 'I'm delighted I have players that believe and trust in me to make the right decisions and then perform like that.

'We've had nine points out of 12 since the Birmingham game, and people who were here when we played Birmingham would never have thought that. It is about all the games, not just about today.'

Vital Wolves Comment: As we said in our pre-match interview with the Burnley editor.

We were initially annoyed at the lack of respect McCarthy's team selection at Manchester United showed the travelling supporters. But any anger quickly moved away from McCarthy towards the media and other teams supporters who seemed to think we`d done the worst thing in the history of football.

So it isn't often that you will see us gloat at a result, but today we will make an exception!
