Will 40 points be enough to survive?
How many points do you think are needed to survive in the Premier League this season?
Traditionally it is thought that once you get passed 40 points, you should be pretty safe from going down come the end of the season.
My Maths GCSE comes in handy here and I can tell you that calculates at 1.05 points per game.
So are Wolves on target? Currently we have 19 points from 20 games. Which works out at 0.95 points per game, so in a word, no. Which is a little worrying, but the way points per games averages work, if we win our next game we are then again bang on target.
But will it be enough?
"The way this season is panning out, with teams in the bottom half seemingly capable of beating everyone else, and the congested group of teams in the bottom half, the final survival target may well be more than 40 points." Wolves chief executive Jez Moxey told the Express & Star.
Which if Jez is right means we need to improve our record between now and May.
