Vokes wants shot at the Premier League

Sam Vokes feels confident following his loan spell at table topping Leeds United.

The Wales striker now wants a shot at playing in the Premier League and if he gets games, he is confident he will get goals.

"I wanted to come back a better player and I feel I`ve done that so I can hopefully battle for a place here," said Vokes to the Express & Star.

The young lad went on to add: "Hopefully I can be involved and get games in the Premier League.

"You can`t beat playing at the top level and, if I can do that, then hopefully I can get a few goals as well.'

Vokes will have tough competition if he does want to get games at Molinuex though.

Vital Wolves Comment: We are all big fans of Sam Vokes here on Vital Wolves, but with so many options up front for Mick McCarthy, we do wonder if another loan move might be the best option at this stage of his career.

Sylvan Ebanks-Blake, Kevin Doyle, Chris Iwelumo, Stefan Maierhofer and Andrew Keogh when fit are all ahead of Vokes in the pecking order in my view.

You say "Sylvan Ebanks-Blake, Kevin Doyle, Chris Iwelumo, Stefan Maierhofer and Andrew Keogh when fit are all ahead of Vokes in the pecking order in my view" Except for Doyle, why should ANY of those other names be given preference over Vokes ?? Ridiculous. In fact if we dont sign a proven striker in the transfer we are in trouble... what if Doyle picks up an injury? Do you think SEB and Chris are Going to score more than 2 between them for the rest of the season ? I always enjoy the articles on here - but had to respond this time as this is the biggest nonsense I've read so far

Ad Mant, thanks for the sort of compliment! ;) It is obviously only my opinion of which I am entitled!

Not quite sure how akela's opinion is nonsense? It seems to be shared by McCarthy otherwise Vokes wouldn't have been sent off on loan in the first place.
