The Gavin & Stacey star, and massive West Ham United fan, joined an ever growing list of famous faces that have backed the Bid including rock legend Noel Gallagher, Formula 1 World Champion Jenson Button, NBA superstar Luol Deng, pop group JLS and England captain John Terry.

James, who can regularly be found at Upton Park watching his beloved Hammers, is a huge football supporter and so is as keen as any fan to see the World Cup come to England in 2018.

He said:

'Having the World Cup in England in 2018 would be amazing. We just love football in this country and I can imagine how brilliant the tournament would be, a fantastic buzz of excitement would be created and football fervor would really grip the entire nation.'

'We`ve already got so much in place with so many amazing stadiums but most of all we have an unrivalled passion for the game. I`m a proud supporter of the England 2018 Bid and would encourage all football fans to log on to www.England2018bid.com to register their support as well.'
