Hunt deal close to collapse?

Hunt deal close to collapse?

Wolves hopes of bringing 28-year-old Stephen Hunt to Molineux could be set to collapse.

The Daily Mail believes that Hull City have slapped a whopping £7million price tag on Wolves target Stephen Hunt.

Hull have already rejected at least one offer from us for a figure thought to be around the £3million mark and Wolves have already stuck in an improved offer.

We seriously doubt that we will offer anything near that asking price for the Republic of Ireland winger, especially when the national paper also believes he is on around £35,000 a week in wages which would easily break our current wage structure if we were to match it.

There is hope that a deal might still be possible though, as the Daily Star believe that Hull are already lining up a replacement for the winger should Hunt leave the club, with Derby winger Kris Commons their preferred option.

Vital Wolves Comment: Typical brinkmanship or are Hull desperate to keep hold of Hunt despite rumours he wants a move?
