Vital Wolves: Defeat to Birmingham - The Verdict

Vital Wolves: Defeat to Birmingham - The Verdict

Wolves looked set to take the three points on Sunday, only for a 10 minute collapse leaving us with nothing.

Kevin Doyle had previously given Wolves the lead, when he quickly followed in on a Matthew Jarvis cross which had rebounded off the post.

But Kevin Phillips turned the game on its head with two goals in five minutes, just as the game was coming to an end.

'That was as disappointed as I've seen the lads in the dressing room afterwards this season and myself included,' McCarthy told Wolves Official Website after the game.

He added: 'It was gut-wrenching at the end of it.

'It's a local derby, we had good support and we played well and when that happens and you don't get anything you feel a little hard done-by.

Vital Wolves Comment: The pressure will now be back on Mick McCarthy. We haven't won in six matches and now sit second from bottom in the Premier League, one point behind Bolton but having played one game more.

We stay behind Mick on Vital Wolves, do you?
