Vital Wolves: Win over Spurs (again) - The Verdict

Before the game all the talk was how we would pick up another 6 wins to reach 40 points. Well thanks to Spurs, we now only need another 5.

With a victory such as this, confidence again will return to Molineux and McCarthy who once again has been under pressure.

But now, he's all smiles again!

'After the weekend we needed a performance and a victory and we got it.' McCarthy told the BBC after the game.

He added: 'Teamwork was the key. We've got a terrific team of lads and they've worked hard and deserved that victory.'

So where next for Wolves? Where will the next 5 wins come from? Well according to Mick, he fancies getting 2 of them against Chelsea and Manchester United!

'It's been proved this season that teams like us can get points off the big teams. We've got Chelsea and Manchester United coming up, who's to say we won't take points off them?' McCarthy added.

Vital Wolves Comment: I didn't expect us to get all three points before the game I do have to admit!

However I did think we stood a chance, the win at White Hart Lane ruffled them up and the psychological advantage of Spurs now believing we are their bogey side will certainly help for future matches!
