That was Mick McCarthy's response during the Thursday press conference. He may well have wanted to discuss tomorrows game with Chelsea, but instead it was his team selection against Manchester United that everyone wanted to discuss.
It may have been last year, it may have been forgotten, but yesterdays ruling that we had broken Premier League guidelines whipped up the storm once again.
'Everyone else can have their opinion on it, but mine is that I'm actually glad it's been dealt with now.' McCarthy told Wolves Official Website.
He added: 'I think I've spoken about this long and weary and I'm now saying that I've accepted it.
'It's now open for discussion, but not with me.'
So what do visitors to Vital Wolves users think?
Why we have been punished when other teams are allowed to do it seems crazy. akela
The only team in the Prem that fields their 'Strongest Side' game after game is Birmingham..... How much is everyone else getting fined then????? JamoDaWolf
I'm a fan of a top 4 team and I do agree that this treatment is a disgrace. Zbam
I agree that this fine wouldn't have happened if the team in question was Man U/Arsenal or any other 'big' team and it is consequently a disgrace - the Premier League need to take a long look at themselves. Shelfinduced
this being a ruling in part to make sure weakened sides aren't purposefully selected in future. Note, you did not actually get a fine - and the crux of the decision was made abundantly clear by the PL and Wolves heirachy. Sides that could drastically alter the result of match would not be tolerated in the future Gunnerman
Gunnerman has a point there. Lets see what happens if this scenario happens again. Zbam
Don't forget exhibit D: Fulham 1-0 Liverpool 5 May 2007. Fulham get 3 points to confirm their Premiership survival, interesting quote on the BBC match report. 'With the Champions League final looming, Liverpool's side, with nine changes, was unrecognisable from the one that got the better of Chelsea in midweek. ' If Fulham had even drawn that match they would have been relegated on 37 points, meaning SUFC staying up. But it's a Big 4 team, so it's ok. bladesman1889
Couldn't agree more. Like all the other incidents Scudamore and the PL did absolutely sweet FA. Scudamore is a disgrace and I am deeply suspicious of his motivation. However, the smaller clubs in the PL only have themselves to blame. They saw how lenient WHU had been treated and apart from Wigan and SUFC what did they do - sweet FA. The same will happen over this small but disgraceful fine. bucksblade
Don't forget Wolves that your like us Blades, your not welcome in the Cheats league. Its a disgrace of a league and I don't care if we never get back there. Its been the death of good, honest football since its conception and the sooner people like Scudamore are booted out of the game forever the better our game will be. BladesWay
