Former Ireland manager Mick McCarthy says 'blah-di-blah'

Kevin Doyle and Kevin Foley are both in the Republic of Ireland squad for the friendly with Brazil on Tuesday 2nd March.

But one absentee is Stephen Ward, which surprised a few pundits as he has been in good form recently.

'If Stephen Ward is playing well for me in the Premier League - which he is - then it's up to the manager of the national team to decide to pick him, not me.' McCarthy told Wolves Official Website.

But surely, McCarthy as a former manager of the national side must have an opinion: 'It also becomes a controversial story when former Ireland manager Mick McCarthy says 'blah-di-blah' about a current Irish manager's decisions.

'So I don't say anything because do you know what? If anyone says anything to me about my squad, I tell them where to go.
