Vital Wolves: Defeat to Bolton - The Verdict

Vital Wolves: Defeat to Bolton - The Verdict

Wolves were punished for one momentary lack of concentration at Bolton yesterday.

With the Wolves players thinking about their half time tea and orange, Zat Knight of all people managed to bang home the only goal of the game.

Both sides had chances to make the scoreline a little bit more interesting, especially Jones who hit one post from a free kick and Foley who hit the other, but it ended 1-0.

'Playing well doesn't always get you points, does it? We switched off just before half-time.' Wolves boss Mick McCarthy told the BBC.

He went on to add: 'We have made mistakes and it has cost us the game. The goal we conceded wasn't bad luck it was bad defending.

'It still remains the same. We need a certain amount of points with 11 games left to stay in this league. Can we get those points? That remains to be seen.'

Vital Wolves Comment: That disappointing defeat has allowed Bolton to over take us in the table.

We are now level on points with Hull who occupy the last remaining relegation spot. The gap between us on goal difference is just five goals.

With us taking on Manchester United next, Burnley away at Arsenal and Hull away at Everton, the league table isn't likely to change much next weekend!

Unlucky to hit the woodwork twice.

We certainly were, just a shame about the defending for the goal, otherwise I think we would have gone on to take the points.
