Rooney set to miss out for United

Wayne Rooney looks set to miss Manchester United's clash with Wolves later today.

With Michael Owen already ruled out for the season, Rooney's knee injury couldn't have come at a better time for Wolves fans!

"We have to assess Wayne because he played almost 90 minutes for England the other night at Wembley, which I was disappointed in.' Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson told the Express & Star.

He added: "When you`re playing on that pitch for almost an hour on Sunday in the Carling Cup final and then nearly a full game on Wednesday, it`s far too much. He`s a doubt for Wolves."

Vital Wolves Comment: Fingers crossed he is forced to sit out tonight as he has been in sensational form for Manchester United this season.

Then once the day is over, he`ll have my full support as an England fan!

Before any United fans complain, please read the full article! I want Rooney to be fully fit for the World Cup and obviously the best way for him to do that is to have a rest tonight. :)
