Villa and Everton interest will not affect Doyle

Kevin Doyle is receiving more and more interest from Premier League sides Aston Villa and Everton.

7 goals this season from the Republic of Ireland international has been key for our Premier League survival hopes and if we do stay up, the record transfer fee of £6.5million will have been an absolute snip.

But obviously the more he impresses, the more interest he receives.

'He's been terrific and, to tell you the truth, I would be more surprised if top teams weren't sitting up there and taking notice.' McCarthy told Sky Sports.

'There is a lot being spoken about Doyley, but I tell you what, he just takes it in his stride.

'He is a team player and he doesn't get carried away with it all. He just gets on with the job. He loves it.

'Speculation about him doesn't bother me and it certainly doesn't seem to bother him.'

If we were to suffer an end of season collapse and be relegated back to the Championship, I doubt many fans would begrudge Doyle a move back to the Premier League.

But if we were to stay up, hopefully he will remain at Molineux.
