'If It's Football, It's Vital'

McCarthy wants to finish on a high

With the pressure easing on Wolves, it would be easy to lose the intensity and finish the season on a poor run of results.

The finishing line is in sight and we go into it confident of avoiding relegation.

I think we've already done enough and some of the players might feel the same way. That can either be a positive or a negative.

A negative result would be an end of season collapse and we end up looking over our shoulder and relying on results elsewhere.

Or a positive is that we can play without pressure, relax and play like we know we can.

"We want to end with a flurry and not cause ourselves any problems by worrying about other results. Let`s do it for ourselves. My main concern is getting relegated and that`s never changed.' McCarthy told the Express & Star.

He added: "We won`t get complacent - we have to keep driving on. Even if we get enough points and we stay up, we want to have fond memories of it going into the close-season and preparing for next season."
