Mancienne could be Chelsea's next Makelele

Michael Mancienne has been tipped by Wolves gaffer Mick McCarthy to become the next Claude Makelele for Chelsea.

Mancienne slotted into the role for us against Tottenham and as ever impressed.

He's been outstanding for us again this season, playing in defence and in midfield.

And while it would be great to keep hold of him, his future is at Chelsea and McCarthy believes he has the potential to make it.

"Chelsea had Didier Deschamps at one stage, then Claude Makelele, who was probably better than anyone else at it, and now John Obi Mikel does it for them.' McCarthy told Express & Star.

He added: "To get in a team like Chelsea you`ve got to be really top drawer. Michael`s learning it, but he`s a really talented lad and he`s improving at it as well.'

"It`s great to have two strings to your bow as a player. If you can play as well at centre back as he does and then step up and do it in midfield as well then he`s always going to get a game."

Vital Wolves Comment: While Mancienne does have a future at Stamford Bridge, he is unlikely to feature regularly next season so he might as well join us on loan again next season!

Come on Chelsea, what do you say??
