'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Vital Wolves: Draw with Blackburn - The Verdict

We didn't know it at the time but, Sylvan Ebanks-Blake's late equaliser was the goal that has brought us Premier League football next season.

It's kind of fitting in a way that a pretty poor season from SEB was topped off with a crucial goal.

We all expected so much more from him this season and it just hasn't worked out that way but at least now it wasn't a complete write off for him.

'It was nice for Sylvan to score. He has been upset through not scoring goals and not playing as much as he would have wanted.' McCarthy told the BBC after the game.

He added: 'But let's not forget the other points everyone has helped to graft out during the season when enjoying a moment of euphoria for Sylvan.'

The point with Blackburn all but nailed on our safety and with Burnley losing to Liverpool yesterday, Premier League safety was guaranteed and so were quite a few hangovers!

Vital Wolves Comment: I'm really looking forward to the summer and now and to who Mick brings in.

I think he has learnt a lot over the second half of the season especially. He has made a couple of mistakes with signings who haven't really made their mark, but hopefully McCarthy will have a better idea this time around.

Does that future include a place for Sylvan Ebanks-Blake? Some tough decisions ahead.
