'If It's Football, It's Vital'

14th still our target says Doyle

We may have lost to relegation fodder Portsmouth on Saturday, but Wolves are still targeting a 14th place finish.

Now honestly I'm going to be delighted with a 17th place finish so I'm not fussed. The season aim was to remain in the Premier League and as far as I'm concerned it is job done.

But with a home game and the possibility of finishing mid table, I'm certainly keeping my fingers crossed for a win over Sunderland on Sunday.

"It`s nice to be able to round off the season with a home game and it`s a sell-out which we seem to have had a lot of," Doyle told the Express & Star.

He added: "We should be raring to go and wanting to finish on a high. We`ve still got a chance of finishing 14th and that`s what we`re trying to do.

"That point has been made to us. I`m sure at the back of everyone`s minds is the relief of being safe, which makes you ease off that little bit and mentally relax,"

Vital Wolves Comment: Considering the current press speculation linking him with a move to Arsenal, I think we should do our best to keep Doyle happy!

But realistically, if Arsenal are seriously interested in Doyle and they have the cash to come to the table, I cannot see us being able to hold on to him.
