McCarthy on the look out for 5 new Doyle's

Kevin Doyle was clearly the purchase of the season for Wolves. McCarthy splashed the cash, broke our transfer record and brought in the striker for £6.5million.

He scored crucial goals, worked tirelessly up front on his own and is my personal player of the season.

So it is hardly a surprise that Mick is hoping that his next batch of signings are more of the same!

While talking about Doyle, Mick said: 'The biggest challenge is to get four or five players to make us better, but with a similar disposition, attitude, work ethic, workrate and character."

Adding to the Express & Star that he also wants new signings to hit the ground running: "I`m not suggesting British players are better, but it`s easier to integrate them,"

"Ronald Zubar has been brilliant, but it took him about three months before he got up to the pace of the game. I wouldn`t want to wait three months with four or five others.

"If they`re to improve the squad, I`d like them to be up to speed straight away."
