Chris Iwelumo has completed his transfer to Burnley FC as expected and becomes one of the first players to leave Molineux ahead of the club's second season in the top flight.
He joins the Turf Moor outfit in hopes of seeing more first team action, with opportunities limited behind the likes of Kevin Doyle, Andy Keogh, Sylvain Ebanks-Blake, Sam Vokes and Stefan Maierhofer, among others.
Iwelumo joined Wolves in the summer of 2008 and made an immediate impact, scoring 14 goals in the 2008/09 campaign which saw the club gain promotion to the Premier League.
However, last season he struggled to even find a spot in Mick McCarthy's squad much of the time, and the Scottish international eventually moved on loan to Bristol City in February, scoring two goals in the process.
Brian Laws will hope that Iwelumo will again be able to find his form in the Championship, and that Burnley will be able to complete a swift return to the Premier League.
Mick McCarthy praised Iwelumo on Wolves Official Website, remarking that he 'puts himself about and gives everything for the cause with no fuss or complaint and is also an excellent influence in the dressing room.'
The move is thought to be worth half a million pounds, and is a welcome boost to McCarthy's transfer funds.
