Wolves sign Fletcher

As predicted yesterday morning Steven Fletcher has now joined Wolves from Burnley.

The 23-year-old Scottish international striker has signed a four-year contract with an option for Wolves to keep him for a fifth year.

The transfer seems to have come about relatively quickly, which can only be a good thing as it limits the chances of other clubs coming in and pinching our targets.

'We are delighted to complete the signing of Steven Fletcher,' said CEO Jez Moxey to Wolves Official Website.

He added: 'He was one of Mick's main targets for the summer and - just like last season with Kevin Doyle - we were able to register our interest early and get the deal done.'

Media reports of a fee of around £8million appear to be a little exaggerated, with a fee of around £6.5million, the same amount we spent on Doyle appearing to be a closer estimate.

Moxey concluded: 'Although we continue to stick to the policy of not disclosing specific transfer fees, I can confirm that this move makes Steven our (joint) record signing.

Great signing, IMO. Doyle and Fletcher should partner well. Now all you need is someone to provide service to them and you'll be set.
