'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Mick expects more ins and outs

Mick McCarthy has confirmed that we still have more business to do over the summer.

In have come Van Damme and Fletcher, with Guedioura and Mujangi also signing.

Big Chris Iwelumo has left, while George Friend and academy products Mark Little and Dan Jones have been released.

He told the E&S:

There is a bit of business still to be done and there will have to be a few move on as well.

"Chris Iwelumo has gone to Burnley. He was terrific. 'Lumes` was one of the building blocks in the club`s progress. You get sad but you have to move on. Players do become surplus to requirements.

"As a bloke I would still want him around, but players want to play football.

"Andy Keogh started the season, then got injured and wasn`t in the team. He does not want to be third or fourth choice, none of them do but that`s how it can end up.

"Andrew Surman is a good player, he had a couple of games then didn`t get his chance. He doesn`t want to be third or fourth choice.

"If that`s going to be the case they might want to move on. There are players who have helped us, but it comes to a natural progression that they will move on

"You can`t just keep them here for back up."

Sounds like Keogh and Surman are leaving. I won't be surprised if The Hoff and Halford leave too. That leaves room for a couple of signings. We've been linked with Stephen Hunt for a long time now, and he knows a couple of the Wolves players from his Reading days.

Yes I'd like to see the Hoff Leave and Halford , Along with Keogh and Surman i think your looking inbetween 3-5 Million coming in for the 4 and that would pay for either Hunt or Mancienne and I'm sure there are funds left to buy the other and I think that would be the Business for the Season completed , I've said before I'd love Jenas at the club though , A talented and gifted attacking CENTRAL midfielder !!

I;m sure Jenas has better options than us though. Maybe we could gpo for Sidwell or Reo Coker, both transfer listed

Think MM is playing it cool on the Hunt front, but he will be a Wolves player come the start of the season. O'Hara would be a nice addition. Be interesting to see if MM comes back with any names from the WC.....

The new squad size rules mean we cannot hold on to players if they are not quite ready for the first team. I'd like to hold on to Surman but it's just a waste with these new rules. He'll have to go and hopefully The Hoff will go with him.
