Hunt deal done

Stephen Hunt will officially leave Hull City for Wolves within the next few days, possibly even the next 24 hours.

Negotiations, while still ongoing, are now at a stage where it's the final few touches and finalisation.

But with this transfer seemingly dragging on for the best part of six months, I guess anything could still happen, so you never know!

"There are rumours about Stephen Hunt, and we`re looking at other players as well.' Wolves Chief executive Jez Moxey told the Express & Star.

He added: "I think we`ll certainly sign one more player, maybe two, and also see one or two going in the not-too-distant future."

Vital Wolves Comment: I think Hunt will be a great signing. In recent days I had started to question if we were still interested in the 28-year-old as all our other transfer moves seem to be completed so quickly!

But I think it's a good signing and will help add creativity to our midfield next season.

Been tipped off on Facebook that Stephen Hunt was spotted in the Mount hotel on the 17th. :) Good rumour that! True? Who knows??

Out of the frying pan into the fire...methinks.

My only fear is that Hunt's injury turns into a Kightly/Murray saga. If we are certain that Hunt will end up fully fit (I'm sure we wouldn't sign him otherwise) then I believe it could be one of the best signings of Mick's era. Hunt is a great footballer. He has skill and delivers a quality ball. He also works tirelessly and has a great motor- you can't question his effort. He also tends to get under the skin of the opposition, a very underrated ability! In addition to his obvious talent I think he will do a lot to raise the spirits in what is still a fairly young team, something which on occasion has been needed.

Signed today but wont be fit to play until October !!

Great capture for wolves. I feel we need to get a right winger and to try and get mancienne. If that heppens i think i will look forward to see wolves next season.

Hunt is a great signing. We have a great policy of signing young hungry players, but the quality and experience Hunt offers is a welcome addition. He might not be fit til October, but that is no biggy. He'll be vital in the busy Christmas period and closing stages of next season. Now we just need a central midfielder of the Nicky Butt mold please. Mancienne might have to stay at Chelsea so perhaps Mokoene from Portsmouth? It's all down to Mick now how he plays. Will we stick with 4-5-1 or will he have more faith in his strike partnership against weaker opposition? I think it will be 50-50. Come on you Wolves!
