Wolves Fan Interview - Number 15 - Old and Gold

The fifteenth Vital Wolves fan interview of the summer has now been completed and next into the the hot seat is Old and Gold.

Question 1: What is your Username on Vital Wolves?

My Username is Old and Gold

Question 2: How long have you supported Wolves?

Since about 1970!

Question 3: Where do you travel from to see the wolves play?

From Cambridge, sadly I don`t get up often enough.

Question 4: How did you become a Wolves fan?

They had an exciting team at the time, The 'Doog`, Kenny Hibbitt and Qualified for Europe in 1971 (UEFA Cup?) and I remember liking the Colours! Looked great in their Subuteo kits!

Question 5: Are you pro or anti Mick McCarthy?

Jury`s still out on that one, has done a great job building a good young Side to get out of the Championship, not confident he can take us to the next level.

Question 6: What was your assessment of last season?

For the most part (Xmas onwards) think the tactics were spot on for the

eam we had, although not pretty to watch I do believe it was necessary.

Question 7: Do you think when Mick changed the whole side against Man Utd was a good decision or not and what would you think if he did it next season ?

Seemed logical to me, the odds against us getting anything from the tie were slim, why risk injury/fatigue for the next game where we had every Chance of getting points. We be happy if he happened again this year (FA Rules permitting of course!)

Question 8: Do you think Wolverhampton can establish themselves in the Premier League and once again, become a great club?

I think we have a far tougher job this year than last, we benefited greatly

rom the Portsmouth mess and the Hull implosion, not sure if there are Any such teams this year (Baggies excepted of course!) But, if we survive Again I am confident we will continue improving and become a force.

Question 9: Predictions for Wolves next season, where do we need to strengthen, should Mick stick with one up front?

Anywhere out of the bottom three will do.

Still think we need a tough Tackling ball winner in the middle alongside Henry (not convinced about Mancienne) Not sure where MM will play Van Damme, concerned if he was

eft Back as rumours state he`s not that quick, but MM does like Ward.

For the top 8-10 teams I think we should continue with 1 up, but would like To see us play 4-4-2 at home or against our rivals in the bottom half.

Question 10: Where do you think Wolves will finish next season?

15th

Question 11: How do you see Sylvain Ebanks-Blake figuring into the team this upcoming season, if at all?

Hope we keep hold of him (but I doubt it) as good a natural goalscorer As we have and I think he will prove it this year, given games.

Question 12: If you could pick one highlight as a Wolves fan what would it be?

I remember Andy Gray scoring against Notts Forest to win the League Cup Final in 1980, great day. And of course, more recently The play off final v Sheffield Utd to get us back into the top league After ages in the wilderness.

Question 13: What is the worst Wolves match you have ever seen and why?

Last seasons Cup tie v Crystal Palace where we lost 3-1, howling Wind, no skill on show, just DIRE!!!!!

Question 14: Has your support for Wolverhampton Wanderers ever wavered?

Never, but have noticed I have more 2nd/3rd teams than I used to!

Question 15: Who is your all time favourite Wolves player?

This is a tough one.Have to call it a dead heat between John Richards & Dave Wagstaffe.

Question 16: If money and status was no object, who would you most like to see in a Wolves shirt?

Myself of course! Seriously it would be a dream to play on the pitch in The Old Gold kit.

Question 17: What Wolves player from history would you want in next seasons team?

John Richards, what a clinical goalscorer, he`d still get 20 goals + every

eason.

Question 18: If you could attend any game in Wolves history, which would it be and why?

I guess the game v Honved in 1953 (with all their stars) coming from Behind to win 3-2 that would have been a game to watch.

Question 19: What is your favourite bit of Wolves trivia?

I have a set of Cigarette cards from the 80`s in mint perfect condition.

Question 20: What is your question for the next interviewee on Vital Wolves?

Where do you see Wolves in 5 years time?
