Posh move for Mendez-Laing

18-year-old Nathaniel Mendez-Laing will spend next season with Peterborough United.

Peterborough will be playing in Division One next season and Mendez-Laing will have the benefit of being with the side for the full season.

For me it's a good move, our players will gain so much more from long term settled loan moves like this, instead of moving around on short term loans or playing reserve team football.

Hopefully we will see other players going out on similar deals.

'He is quick, likes to attack players and I believe he will be an excellent acquisition,' said Posh boss Gary Johnson to the BBC.

He added: 'He was with us for two weeks at the back end of last season and was keen to join us throughout the summer.

'I know Mick McCarthy very well and he was happy to allow him to join us and we are delighted he is here.
