Wolves Fan Interview - Number 18 - waterloo wolf

The eighteenth Vital Wolves fan interview of the summer has now been completed and next into the the hot seat is waterloo wolf.

Question 1: What is your username on Vital Wolves?

Waterloo Wolf

Question 2: How long have you supported Wolves?

Early 1950's

Question 3: How did you become a Wolves fan?

When I was a kid, they were the greatest team in England and had an all-international half-back line. Throw in the nickname and the fabulous colours and I was hooked.

Question 4: Where do you travel from to see the wolves play?

Merseyside.

Question 5: Do you have a pre match ritual or lucky Wolves charm and what is it?

I `talk' to my portrait of The Wolves Greats and ask Stan Cullis for a good performance. Weird or what ?

Question 6: Which stand do you sit in at Molineux?

Anywhere I can - I'm not proud.

Question 7: What is your favourite Wolves chant?

Got to be the Liquidator.

Question 8: Are you pro or anti Mick McCarthy?

Very much pro Mick. Steady progess every year he's been here.

Question 9: What was your assessment of last season?

Slow start but once we got into our stride, I was no longer in awe or scared of the other Premier teams. A fabulous finish pleased me no end.

Question 10: Do you think when Mick changed the whole side against Man Utd was a good decision or not and what would you think if he did it next season ?

WW is not a democracy. We have to totally back the manager in every game and hope he's knows what he's doing. The Man U switch proved Mick was RIGHT.

Question 11: Do you think Wolverhampton can establish themselves in the Premier League and once again, become a great club?

Please....even in Div 4, we were a great club. We are back in our spiritual home i.e. the top division and we are going to stay !!

Question 12: Predictions for Wolves next season, where do we need to strengthen, should Mick stick with one up front?

Mid-table will be fantastic - wouldn't mind a back-up to Henry and maybe Mick should restrict 4-5-1 to away games only ?

Question 13: Where do you think Wolves will finish next season?

Mid-table

Question 14: Where do you see Wolves in the next 5 to 10 years?

An ESTABLISHED team in the Prem, just outside the European places

Question 15: How do you see Sylvain Ebanks-Blake figuring into the team this upcoming season, if at all?

I really hope SEB comes back and shows everybody how good he used to be. It was so sad to watch him struggle last season

Question 16: If you could pick one highlight as a Wolves fan what would it be?

Last season ? Watching Keogh score our first away goal of the season at Wigan. Superb and he was robbed of a blatant penalty !!

Question 17: What is the worst Wolves match you have ever seen and why?

Any of the 3 Chorley games - dire

Question 18: Has your support for Wolverhampton Wanderers ever wavered?

I did a lot of soul-searching when we were pipped by the A***** for automatic promotion and then lost in the play-offs. I was at rock-bottom for a couple of weeks but it soon cleared.

Question 19: Who is your all time favourite Wolves player?

Kenny Hibbitt - great player and a great gentleman. Watched him show the League Cup in 1974 to the disabled WW fans at Wembley and it made me cry a little....

Question 20: If money and status was no object, who would you most like to see in a Wolves shirt?

Messi no less.

Question 21: What Wolves player from history would you want in next seasons team?

Waggy - Doyley/Fletcher would love him

Question 22: If you could attend any game in Wolves history, which would it be and why?

Any of the great 50's games against the best of Europe - I was too young to go and couldn't appreciate the significance of it.

Question 23: What is your favourite bit of Wolves trivia?

I just love the story that the great Edward Elgar used to cycle to the Mol to watch the boys.....2 England greats together

Question 24: What is your question for the next interviewee on Vital Wolves?

Which ground would you like to see WW win away at ?

Thanks to waterloo wolf for agreeing to be our eighteenth interview!
