'If It's Football, It's Vital'

McCarthy blasts O'Driscoll

O'Driscoll the manager of Doncaster Rovers has been on the receiving end of a tongue lashing from Mick McCarthy.

Last Thursday, O'Driscoll told local radio that he wanted to take Andy Keogh to the Championship side.

'You talk to a lot of clubs about players without making a concrete offer and we have done that with Andy Keogh.'

'I think if Mick McCarthy would let him go out on loan then he will come here. If he does come here then it would be a brilliant addition to the squad.' O'Driscoll told Radio Sheffield.

Those comments have angered McCarthy who blasted: "I always find it strange when managers talk about other team`s players. They`ve signed Billy Sharp - if they want to pair them up then they have a lot of things to do.

"First, contact us and make a proper bid. Secondly, if we accept it, then they can speak to Andy, and that might not be the easiest thing in the world. McCarthy told the Express & Star.

He continued: "Not contact me and ask - 'Is he available?` because we know he is, they`ve got to say 'We want him and we want to bid x-amount.` That`s how it goes.

"If they don`t, then nothing will happen."

Vital Wolves Comment: So Doncaster, pick up the phone and make a bid, that is of course if you haven't been scared away by our Mick??
