'If It's Football, It's Vital'

The Hoff Is Off

Stefan Maierhofer has left the building.

The 27-year-old who stands at 6ft 8ins will probably be remembered as one of the biggest transfer flops to grace Molineux.

At £1.8million, the Austrian managed just 11 appearances in English football, with 3 of those coming in the Championship whilst on loan to Bristol City.

I'm sure McCarthy would have hoped he could sell the unwanted striker and recoup as much of the transfer fee Rapid Vienna received less than 12 months ago, but with the new 25-man-squad rule it was also just as important to get him out of the club before the season started.

So Maierhofer has joined German second division club Duisburg on a season-long loan. If he impresses (yes big if), the move could become permanent (fingers crossed).

Thank god for that! This player was definitely not Micks finest transfer moment - reminds ne of that other disasterous purchase Frankowski or whatever his name was!! What a pair of crocks!

I'm surprised the guy even fit in the building in the first place!

Cant judge a guy over very few games but from what i saw he had little confidence and we didn't play a formation that suited him really , Season long loan is Dissapointing , Would rather just sell n cut our losses !!!
