Vuvuzelas banned at Molineux

Wolves have decided to follow the lead of numerous Premier League clubs and have announced the ban of Vuvuzelas at Molineux.

Vuvuzelas became a bit of a craze during the World Cup and were talked about in the papers and media as often as the actual matches.

While they might be a tradition in the South African culture, English supporters generally saw them as an annoyance and several Wolves fans contacted the club asking for a ban.

"Vuvuzelas are the musical equivalent of Marmite. You either love them or loathe them.' Matt Grayson, head of marketing and communications at Wolves told the Express & Star.

He added: "We`ve been sent a pretty clear message that the majority of Wolves supporters don`t want them at Molineux.

"This seems to be the view among general football fans and many Premier Leagues have already ruled out vuvuzelas at their grounds."

I'm rather pleased with the ban, while I wouldn't have been bothered enough to actually complain as I think it will be a fad and disappear eventually. I'm glad I will not have to wait for it to happen and can enjoy the more traditional sounds of thousands of supporters singing in blissful harmony.

They will be soon forgotten. It might have been part of the culture over there but it kills the atmosphere so it's hardly going to catch on here!
