Wolves are ready for the new season

Less than a week away until the big kick off and McCarthy has declared that Wolves are ready!

A confidence boosting win over Bilbao on Saturday brought pre-season to an end.

Beating opposition from Ireland, Belgium, Scotland and Spain along the way might give a suggestion on just how far we have come over the past year.

But once the whistle blows to kick off the new season, our Mick knows that then and only then will we really know how good we are looking.

'It doesn't count for anything in terms of points but it helps that feelgood factor and suggests the preparation has been good.' McCarthy told Wolves Official Website.

Mick added: 'We're ready now - we have to be really!

Are we ready?? I think so, but what do you think??

We have spent 18 million pounds worth of quality to add to the squad that managed to finish 15th last season. This is by far the best squad we have had at the club since the days of Paskin and Steele.

Looking forward to Stoke on Saturday. Don't usualy go to the friendly games but made it this weekend, some pretty encouraging performances to be fair. Thought SEB and Fletcher looked a good pairing, a few wayward passes from SEB but can't argue with his overall game. Looks like MM has got a front line headache!

He'll have a bigger headache if one, or forbid two of them get injured. The doubts over Doyle have already left us looking a bit thread bare in that department. We may have signed Ward as a striker but the furthest up the field he is going to get a game is on the left wing, which is fine by me, but doesn't offer much cover. If someone comes in and pays the inflated fee for Keogh, and with Vokes injured, who we probably had a recall on, we are left with three. I am sure Mick has a card up his sleeve but with the days counting down it is not going to be easy for someone to just turn up and click into place. I was on the Bristol City site and they are worth a chortle- they are entertaining the possibility Michael Owen is going to sign for them.

Doyle is not Injured !!!!!!! , You seriously think McCarthy would allow him to go to Ireland if he was lol lol And to say we played most of last season with Doyle on his own , Having 4 strikers including Keogh is quite healthy in my eyes !
