Jones future in doubt

A three-year-deal has been put on the table for 25-year-old Wolves midfielder David Jones.

But so far, Jones is yet to agree with the offer made and the club has now announced that talks have collapsed.

The crux is, with the Bosman rule as it stands now, Jones can start discussions with foreign clubs from 1st January and we will not want to lose any players for nothing.

'We've had a number of amicable discussions over the summer about extending David's contract but we have been unable to reach a satisfactory agreement,' Wolves CEO Jez Moxey told Wolves Official Website.

Both parties (publicly at least) appear relaxed about the situation. Jez remains confident that a new deal will be struck, while David Jones, was also happy to talking to WOW and added: 'The conversations with the club have been amicable and although we have yet to reach an agreement, I'm really excited for the new Premier League season, helping the club build on last year's success and will continue to give 100% as always.'

But just as the Express & Star have speculated, why make it public??

If it was just a matter of time before a deal was struck then surely we wouldn't have heard about the problems?

Perhaps we are actually putting out a feeler to see if there is any interest out there?

It's well known we need to sell a couple of players, perhaps this is a move to plan B for McCarthy and Moxey??

We're in the same position with Pienaar... I wish players would just tell us what the **** they intend on doing!

Both parties are relaxed , I.e Jones's representitives and Moxey , So i m guessing its just a few quid here or there nothing Major , I think he will sign , This is the problem you will have when you bring in players on bigger wages !!!
ODDJOB79
Hope this is cleared up soon, need him to replicate the form he showed last season

I'm sure it will be sorted eventually.

Would like him to stay, but if he gets too big for his boots and it upsets the chaging room , then he should go.
OLDGOLD
It could work out well for both parties,he will want to play well for obvious reasons and it will also benefit the team and if he makes himself first on the teamsheet, he should gain a better offer from us.Everyones a winner as Del would say!!.Come on me Babbies.
