Doyle Doubt

It looks like we might have to wait to see Kevin Doyle and Steven Fletcher link up in the Premier League.

Before the Republic of Ireland match last night Doyle believed that he had to feature for his country to be in contention for Wolves at the weekend.

"I need to play some part tonight if I`m to have a chance of playing on Saturday, Because I didn`t play for Wolves at the weekend, Mick is actually hoping I get to play at some stage and get some minutes.' Doyle told the Express & Star.

So it would have been doubly frustrating for Doyle last night as he watched on from the sidelines as the Republic of Ireland's debut at the new Aviva Stadium ended in defeat.

Another doubt for the season opener is Dave Edwards.

Edwards was sent home from the Wales camp on Tuesday with a groin injury.

Obviously I'd like to see Doyler starting, but could this be a blessing in disguise? Defensively Stoke are the kind of side SEB loves playing against & with his confidence being on the up I can see him having a great day on Saturday!!! SEB really needs to put last season behind him & kick on (Especially now that Fletcher has arrived) - This could be his time to bask in the glow of Old Gold glory again...............

Would be brilliant if it worked out that way. But can see Mick going with just Fletcher up front.

Mick has already stated it will be 4-4-2 so I think it will be SEB and Fletcher upfront, a goal each and 3 points that will do nicely!!

I have a very odd feeling we are going to put a fair amount of goals past this lot on Saturday- and not many teams do that to Stoke. I think the first five minutes of this one will dictate the game. I want to see us flying in to challenges from the first minute and let them know what they are up against. Got a bit of steel in the team now. I fancy Blakey From On The Buses to notch one. He knows he needs it. Fletch to be off with a bang. Can't wait for this.

I know he has already said 442 but that was when he thought he had Doyle and Fletcher available. Nothing stopping him changing his mind now.

2-1 , Fletcher and Jarvis for me !!
ODDJOB79
I really don't think Mick would want to start the season with a 4-5-1 at home so maybe SEB does get an early opportunity to prove that he is up to the task.

4 4 2 for me, Fletch and SEBn a,d depending how it goes, maybe SEB off mid second half and Keogh on to play either 4 4 2 of 4 5 1. I am going today, with my dad, just like old times 25 years ago!!!! Will probably be wearing a harlequins rugby top, say hi if you see me!
OLDGOLD
Attack,Attack,Unleash Seb and lets get the points bandwagon on the move.3 points to start will be very nice for a change, plenty of time for 4-5-1 next week away to Everton.Common me babbies.

OLD GOLD , Now maybe even you will admit KEOGH is not Premiership class , He always trys but at this level effort is not enough , Needs to be sold or loaned out , Swap him for Folan from Hull !!!! , How close was i with my Prediction too ;-) , I knew Stoke would score as Kenywene Jones always scores or plays well against us , Was a huge relief when Jody nobbled him hahaha , GO ON FANNY CRADDOCK !!!!!!!!!!!!
