'If It's Football, It's Vital'

First Game Over !!!

Well that's the first of 38 over with, a win for Wolves which they made hard work of in the second half.

I thought we did very well first half and my only slight concern was that living in Crete I was watching the match on my pc with the Greek commentary on!!

I missed the start so had no idea of the team line up, I quickly realised we had Jarvis, Henry and Jones in midfield but was at a loss as to who the 4th member of our midfield was!

It was not until a couple of minutes before half time that I saw that it was Ward playing left side midfield!!!

As for the new recruits I thought Van Damme looked the part at left back and maybe a future centre back?

Fletcher was a class act and he looks a very good player and should be a good partner for Doyle?

SEB I thought did ok but if we are to be honest is ok good enough at this level?

I would still stick with him for a couple of games at home but think the system will change for away matches so he could find himself on the bench next week.

Hope Fletcher's injury is ok and that it was just to be safe they took him off.

5pm on Saturday reminded me of the good old days, Blackpool top and Wolves 3rd, happy days and lets make the most of it while we can.

Come on me babbies.

Thought SEB was excellent with Fletcher. He is a good back up to have

Maybe Doyle will become goood back up to S.E.B , What happens if S.E.B scores 1-2-3 on saturday , Do you still class him as back up , Im not Biased towards Blake , I think Doyle and Fletcher are just as good as blake if not better on there day , But S.E.B deserves his chance after impressing saturday and in pre season , What i could see , Doyle needs to go some to get back in the team , Personally i would like Guedirola in the team somewhere , A raw all round Midfielder , He ran the show against Spurs at home last year !!!

Mick has always maintained that those who are fit and play to their best ability (or near enough) will be hard to shift from the team. This would suggest that considering his performances through pre season and Saturday when it really mattered Blakey shone. By theory he would keep his place, and judging by his lack of football over recent weeks I would actually prefer not to rush Doyle back in- our back up suddenly looks very weak- forbid we suffer injuries in that department. Saying all that- I strongly believe that if Doyle declares himself fully fit Mick will pick him.

Crete Wolf - Ward played at left back with Van Damme on the left hand side of the midfield. Think the antenna on the telly might need a smack with the newspaper!

ODD JOB - you say on one hand you are not biased towards Blake and yet in every post you seem to want to suggest he is in the same class as Doyle or Fletcher!! You have to be joking surely? As bloggerwolf quite correctly pointed out if SEB can keep this level of improvement up then he will be able to provide a decent back up to our main strike force. I for one hope that he can! Otherwise he will find himself sold to a Championship team at the end of the season.

I think he showed the same Performance saturday as Doyle did in most Games , If Fletcher had stayed on Blake would have got his goal but our midfield backed off a bit once he went off so made it harder for S.E.B , I missed once match last year and have played a decent level myself , So i know a Good striker when i see one , Wayne Rooney was awful last night but would you drop him for hernanadez ???? , Different level of player I know but the same thing , I just think if you play well , Work hard you keep your place simple as , And S.E.B did that !!!

Heres another one for you TRADER , When Kightly and Hunt are fully Fit which one do you leave on the Bench when playing 4-4-2 ??? , As for me Jarvis is our number 1 Winger , Or is it that Kightly is our hottest young prospect and Hunt cost a bit of money does that automaticly gurantee them starts ??????
