'If It's Football, It's Vital'

McCarthy gets his man

Wolves have bagged Michael Mancienne from Chelsea for a third time.

After a bit of a flirt of the possibility of a permanent deal, the two sides couldn't agree on a fee so have instead chosen another season long loan deal.

The move means that Mancienne will spend his third season at Molineux and that is all that matters really and who knows perhaps a permanent deal could follow next season!

'In a way it feels like I'm coming back home anyway and I'm really looking forward to the season.' Mancienne told Wolves Official Website.

He continued: 'Over the summer I was just waiting to see what happened with Chelsea and go from there.

'It didn't look like anything was going to happen with Chelsea and I didn't really want to sit and wait for a chance - I want to play games.

'Wolves have been very good to me in the past and I'm delighted to be back.

Congrats guys... You just got one of the best young defenders in the World. Let's hope he blossoms into greatness

Think mick likes his versatility. He can play anywhere across the back 4 or the holding midfield role which is personally where i rate him best, not sure where he will be used to be honest as henry has the holding role and think zubar and van damme are nailed on as full backs and berra and craddock seem to have great understanding now?

I can't see anyone taking Zubar's place when he is on form. Henry is going to play and the central pairing of Berra and Craddock looks stable, but Craddock won't be able to play every game. I think Mancienne would do a job in a 5 man midlfield next to Henry, or play him in central defence to take a few games off Jody? He did play a bit at left back too didn't he? So maybe take Van Damme's place. McCarthy's only problem for me is that he likes versatile players a little too much and almost tries to play total football with the ammount of changes he rings in. Foley, Ward, Van Damme and Mancienne can all rotate weekely from full back to midfielder. It confuses me when I try and pick a team!!!!

Well I think he would love Mouyokolo to come in for Craddock not Mancienne , Im pretty sure Mancienne played left back for the under 21's ?? , Ideal line up for me at the mo would be Hannehman , Zubar , Mouyokolo , Berra , Mancienne , Jarvis , Henry , Guiderola , Van Damme , Doyle , Fletcher SUBS , Blake , Foley , Ward , Jones , Craddock , Hennessey and Edwards/Milijas , And Hunt n Kightly to come back at some stage oooooooo happy days lol

Can't see him as anything but a sub for us at the moment, but that just goes to show that we are building a decent side
