Murray retires

While it isn't particularly a surprise, it's still sad news to pass on.

Wolves shotstopper Matt Murray has announced his retirement from professional football at the young age of just 29.

With 5 caps for England Under-21 the game has lost a true talent who had the potential to rise to the very top of the game, if it wasn't for a variety of injuries which halted and eventually ended his career.

Murray made 108 appearances during his career, the majority for Wolves with a handful of a appearances for Kingstonian, Tranmere and Hereford during short loan spells.

Good luck to Murray in whatever he decides to do next. Hopefully the club will be able to offer him some kind of role??

gutted for matt. He really was a great talent. Arguably our best keeper since bert williams. If not for the injuries he would have definately got lots of full england caps. All the best for the future.
