McLeod Still Keen On Move

Izale Mcleod, a January transfer target for Glenn Hoddle, who was effectively priced out of a move to Wolves has once more stated his desire to join Wolves. Albeit, through his agent.

January's drawn out transfer negotiations ended in acrimony when MK Dons finally accepted Wolves generous, some might say too generous, third and final offer of £600,000 rising to £1.3 million.

This for a player who by his own admission carries a recurring injury that dislocates his shoulder, and who has gone on record as saying spescialists believe one more instance could prove career threatening.

'Izale never had any problem with Glenn Hoddle and still feels he could learn a lot from him,' explained McLeod's agent Gino Culbertson. 'As far as he is concerned Wolves are obviously a big club and he would certainly be attracted by any approach from them.

'Although he enjoys playing for MK Dons and has always done his best for them he wants to play at the highest level possible.'

Vital Wolves has two questions.

Does Glenn Hoddle still want to teach Izale?

And does his agent really think it will go unnoticed that this statement only comes after it now looks odds on Wolves are about to come into a tidy sum thanks to Jo Lescott?

Call me a cynic, but Mr Culbertson has been pretty quiet while statements of financial cutbacks have been bandied about.

If Izale is so keen to team up with Glenn Hoddle, does this mean his client will be prepared to accept a much lower pay offer than was tabled in January?

Time will tell.

Agents eh? Shoot the f***ing lot of em i say. They do nothing but take money OUT of football.

FEn, in this case Wolves, NO, rising to 1.3m, yes if he scores 25 goals a season is the only way a deal like this can go through. The money can be much better elsewhere.
