Sylvan Ebanks-Blake has already matched his goal tally from Wolves debut season in the Premier League.
Goals against Everton and Newcastle have helped boost Ebanks-Blake's moral and may well have come just in time to save his Wolves career.
With the signing of £6.5million Kevin Doyle 12 months ago, SEB dropped down the pecking order and had a dismal season.
Then this summer we splash out another £7million on Steven Fletcher.
Some were ready to write off Sylvan, but following a good pre-season and injuries to both Doyle and Fletcher, Ebanks-Blake has had a second chance at the Premier League and the 24-year-old has grabbed it with both hands.
But its his workrate rather than goals which has pleased him the most.
"Dropping back and helping out the defence can be pretty tiring but it`s the minimum requirement, especially at this level.' Sylvan Ebanks-Blake told the Express & Star.
He continued: "I knew I had to add to my game if I wanted to play and stay in the team.
"You just have to learn to do the unselfish things. Hopefully that will make me a better player.
"The gaffer has made me aware of that and I like to think I`ve grown.
Vital Wolves Comment: While being more than a goalscorer will help SEB keep hold of his spot in the side, make no mistake if the goals begin to dry up he will soon be on the sidelines again.
Fingers crossed that this season will be Ebanks-Blake time to shine.
Be less selfish with your workrate, but do not lose that selfish steak in front of goal. That is what got you 50 goals between 2007 and 2009 in the Championship!
