Hunt for full fitness begins

Stephen Hunt started training with Wolves for the first time this week.

The 29-year-old who came to Molineux in a 3-year-deal from Hull this summer has been battling back from a foot injury which has kept him sidelined since February.

"It was the first time I`d set foot on the green grass and it was only a slow pace, but it all helps.' Hunt told the Express & Star.

He added: "When I`m back in full training, hopefully I can get a full two weeks then and see where I am after that. The next step will be to get a pre-season under my belt.

"Then there`s another international break in October, and hopefully by the time those games come around, I shouldn`t be too far away.'

It's been a long wait to finally see Hunt in a Wolves shirt, McCarthy tried to tempt Hull to sell last year with no reward until this summer.

McCarthy was so desperate to sign Hunt that he still signed him while knowing it would be another few months before he could play.

I just hope the pressure to reward that faith doesn't in some way tempt Hunt to come back too quickly.

No doubt he's a good player. If we keep our players fit we'll have a great season - UTW!!
