'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Wolves will not change

We will not change our style of play, is the message being screamed from Molineux ahead of our game against Tottenham.

The media backlash against us has continued to snowball.

The Premier League have slapped our wrists with a 75,000, but the message from the dressing room is: 'we`ll keep playing the same. We`re not a dirty side.'

Those were the words of a defiant Mick McCarthy speaking to the Express & Star.

The media bandwagon started picking on Wolves after the Newcastle game, with the apparent targeting of Joey Barton and Wolves picking up 7 yellow cards.

If it wasn't for the international break the game would have been forgotten within days.

Mick added: "I guess football and journalism in general needs those kind of stories.'

Unfortunately the following game also saw us pick up 7 yellow cards and was witness to Bobby Zamora breaking his leg.

Despite the tackle not being malicious in anyway, the media obvious spins it to paint us as the bad guys.

Mick continued: "We`re one of those stories at the moment, the subject of people`s nonsense at the minute. That`s the way it is.

"I can`t stop it and I won`t talk about it too much either because you end up trying to justify it - and I`m not trying to."
