Wolves Fans Keeping It Real

Crete Wolf recently posted a poll asking Wolves fans how many points we expected us to have by January 1st.

56% of the votes suggested we will not even hit the 20 point mark, 36% think we will notch somewhere in the region of between 20-25, whilst 13% think we will have more than 25.

Personally, having looked through our fixture list, drop in the middle band. I have us for draws against Villa (H) and Wigan (A), beating West Ham (H), losing to Chelsea and Manchester City- away then at home respectively, losing at Old Trafford then at home to Arsenal, beating Bolton at home, with a draw at Blackpool, a home draw against Sunderland, losing at Blackburn, a home draw against Blues, a point at West Brom, beating Wigan at home, losing at Liverpool when the ref cheats us, and finishing the timeline with a home win over West Ham. Phew. Done. That would leave us on 23 points from 21 games, at which ratio would suggest survival, but surely we should be expecting more than a survival matter. There are the fixtures for you to study- hit the forum and follow up with your thoughts.

Going forward we look great. We have attacking options a plenty and the passing and movement is fantastic to watch. We genuinely look like scoring with almost every attack. However, in stark contrast, we are absolutely awful at the back. Im not convinced we actually have any prem class defenders at the club at all. Once the opposition have bypassed our midfield it has only been the heroics of Hahneman that has stopped us conceeding 7 or 8 more goals than we have already. With that in mind... unless we outscore the opposition a lot of those draws you mention wlll turn into losses. Very worrying indeed, I reiterate what ive been saying ad infinitum: We CANNOT play with two strikers whilst our defence is so useless.

PS Ward and Stearman? Are you having a laugh Mick ?

I think with Hunt back and Van Damme at full back things will be different on the left hand side.As for the points I am in broad agreement with Wolf 23-25 points by 1st Jan.
