Henry sending off whips up media storm again

Henry received his second sending off of his 300+ game career against Wigan.

With the media storm surrounding Molineux over the past month or so, Wolves fans have had to put up with little gems like this from visiting supporters to Vital Wolves: 'Scum of the premier league!!! You went mad after sidwell's challenge, Henry should be banned for life, he has already broke a top players leg, had a go at alot of players like barton and then that horrific challenge yesterday. No wolves fan or the joke of Mccarthy can defend a scumbag like him, he isnt a footballer he just kicks lumps out of people, thats what wolves do.'

This wholly inaccurate comment came from P.Avfc, showing the influence the media can have over their readers.

The fact that this Villa support believes Henry is 'scum bag' following only the second red card of his career is laughable, especially to Wolves fans who get to watch Henry a little bit more than the little snippets Match Of The Day decide to screen.

'At the time I saw the tackle and thought it was a difficult one for the referee and would be touch and go,' said Wolves striker Kevin Doyle to Wolves Official Website.

He added: 'Karl has apologised for being sent off and he's not a dirty player by any means.'

'In the time I've played with him I've known him as a very clean and fair player.'

Vital Wolves Comment: Personally I won't argue that Henry deserved a red card on this occasion, but please, lets not turn this one incident into something it isn't.

Is Steve Sidwell all of a sudden a scum bag for breaking Adlene Guedioura leg?

Henry and Wolves' reputation are the least of our worries at the moment. We could very easily be 5 or more points adrift at the bottom of the table in a few games time...

Sidwell's challenge was not malicious at all...Karl henry's challenge was appauling, i live near wolvehampton, all my friends are wolves supporters and i no exactly how karl henry plays, they say themselves that karl henry will snap all the villa players when we play you again, says alot doesnt it? I clearly see watching a game and highlights which obviously show bad challenges that he is a dirty player, he has broke a players leg already, could of severely hurt barton and then the same with wigan...He is a thug, not so much the whole wolves team but karl henry is.
P.Avfc
I'm sorry, but I partly agree with P.avfc. To suggest that the whole wolves team is dirty and malicious is ludicrous, and he's acknowledged that. I have said that myself after the recent home game against you. However, with Karl Henry, I must make an exception. Second sending-off of his career, you say? It's not a fact i'm willing to accept without thinking. What is his yellow card count? as for the sending offs, considering both came in the past two seasons in the top flight, the last one against rosicky if you remember, and considering the build-up of incidents that occured without official sanction, examples being the Barton incidents and the Zamora challenge, one thing becomes worryingly clear-he cannot handle the step up from the championship for the full ninety, and he isn't afraid to go studs in or deliberately foul someone when he does get the better of him. In that respect, he is a thug. But dragging the whole Wolves team into it insults their honor.

karl broke zamoras leg yes! How did he do it? By winning the ball clean as you like in a fair tackle when zamoras leg unfortunately tangled. Henry didnt go over the ball no studs up even mark hughes didnt complain about the challenge. Also henry was instantly attentive to zamora and didnt walk away. Sound like a scum bag? Er no. I do not defend karls tackle againsat wigan but one bad challenge in a blue moon doesnt require a witch hunt. Henry apologised and has been fined by the club. Wolves do not condone that type of challenge bear that in mind please and keep stupid comments to yourself.

one bad challenge in a blue moon? I have seen a hell of a lot of poor challenges from him this season, they even did a segment of his challenges on MOTD, he goes in with intent of getting the ball no matter what, he is malicious and doesnt think of his actions, i havn't saw a more dirty player in years, there have been a few nearly as bad but henry is up there. He is a thug.
P.Avfc
You're talking rubbish P.Avfc, never seen a more dirty player? I can only assume you haven't watched much football. Henry plays the game hard like it used to be played, but there is no malice in his game. Ever seen him stamp on a player, or perhaps put a Cigar out in someones eye? Now that's what a thug would do.
akela
akela, it takes a thug to constantly try to bait a thug by fouling him repeatedly. Which thug is which?
