Henry Apologises

Wolves skipper Karl Henry has apologised for his tackle on Jordi Gomez which earned him a red card after just 11 minutes of the game against Wigan.

'Having watched it again I can see that it looks horrific and realise that it was a deserved red card.' Henry told Wolves Official Website.

He continued: 'I've already apologised to the manager, TC and the boys, but I'd also like to apologise to the supporters, especially the ones that travelled up to Wigan.'

'It's something that I'll learn from. But things happen so quickly. I'd made the decision to go and win the ball and it turned out to be the wrong one.'

The tackle left Wolves playing the majority of the game with just 10 men and the side went on to lose.

While Henry himself received criticism from the media and supporters over his aggressive style.

Irish_Wolf wrote on our forum: 'Very disappointing TBH. The thuggish style of football on display is shocking and Mick needs to wise up. Karl Henry should be dropped for a while to calm him down, but then again he is probably following orders.'

P.Avfc wrote on our article comments: 'Karl Henry's challenge was appalling, I live near Wolverhampton, all my friends are wolves supporters and I know exactly how Karl Henry plays, they say themselves that Karl Henry will snap all the villa players when we play you again, says a lot doesn't it? ...He is a thug, not so much the whole wolves team but Karl Henry is.'

DubaiSpur wrote on our article comments: 'Considering the build-up of incidents that occurred without official sanction, examples being the Barton incidents and the Zamora challenge, one thing becomes worryingly clear-he cannot handle the step up from the championship for the full ninety, and he isn't afraid to go studs in or deliberately foul someone when he does get the better of him. In that respect, he is a thug.'

thehappywanderer wrote on our article comments: 'Karl broke Zamora's leg yes! How did he do it? By winning the ball clean as you like in a fair tackle when Zamora's leg unfortunately tangled. Henry didn't go over the ball no studs up even Mark Hughes didn't complain about the challenge. Also Henry was instantly attentive to Zamora and didn't walk away. Sound like a scum bag? Er no. I do not defend Karl's tackle against Wigan but one bad challenge in a blue moon doesn't require a witch hunt.'

At least he has the decency to apoligise, he knows he has done wrong and i hope he changes his ways and becomes an actual football player...Before someone else gets their leg broke or worse.
P.Avfc
another fully deserved red card and it has to be said that he needs to calm down a hell of a lot or become a serious liability to you as a club. Perhaps it is more about trying too hard over being out of his depth, because I think he has a fantastic engine and there is a reall need for aggression in the game, but there are limits and he is one of a number of players who have exceeded them.

Mick must be loving all the media attention henry's getting... its keeping a lot of the heat off his TEAM SELECTIONS ... Henry is a good player, and one of, if not the, most improved players who stepped up to life in the premiership. Think the time off will do him the world of good cos he was building up to this last incident...

still hasnt apologised to gomez though has he!!!!
cb25Yid
You would'nt get Ron "Chopper"Harris or Norman "Bite your legs" Hunter to apologise I bet. This is all getting out of hand now,Yahoo have even got a video on their homepage of the tackle!!!where's it all going to end?.Anyone remember Roy Keane"s vicious tackle on Hagland?now he even admitted I think, in trying to injure the player in his book,I think that got less attention than Karls tackle!!.Lets get one thing right here, the news/media is so much more in the spotlight now,24hr news etc thats the problem.Internet is now getting in on the act, think its time to get back onto the subject of football guys?.

Well i think everyone would like to watch and talk football crete but people like karl henry feel the need to kick people and not play football so thats why the media talks of this issue...And your right cb25yid, accoring to the papers gomez has said that henry has not apoligised to him.

P.AVFC has Sidwell apologised to Adlene Guedioura for breaking his leg with a poor thoughless tackle. No one in the their right mind would condone Henry's tackle, but lets get some perspective here, Gomez did not break his leg but Guedioura did. When all said and done which team in the Premier League has committed the most fouls up to and including last weekend and of the two teams which one had the player with the most fouls ? In short P*** Off back to Villa sites :-P
CB1877
Sidwells tackle was not malicous...Henry just dived in trying to get the player, he has been doing it all season, i think most people can see CB1 that henry is a dirty player.
P.Avfc
P.AVFC these are my last comments towards you, take the blinkers off, clearly you know nothing about the game, you do not know what Sidwell was intending, the outcome though is clear he fouled Adlene and broke his leg, end of. Purely by stats Aston Villa have committed the most Premier League fouls do date and Petrov has committed more fouls than Henry, purely by your confused methodology (if you have one), Villa are filth and Petrov likewise, not our parameters, but yours, deal with it, don't bother replying as we're not interested...ps malicious is spelt this way not your way.
CB1877
We are filth? Saw your ground, if your a wolves fan...I clearly no nothing about football when i go to america once every 2 years for 13 weeks to coach football but i no nothing. The stats are meaningless, carew has gave the most fouls away for just leaning into people and getting unfair treatment, everyone has eyes and they can clearly see that henry has given a lot of poor silly challenges this season...I cant remember petrov diving in and nearly braking someones leg and being a malicious as you say as henry so there you go think what you want...Karl henry is a thug.
P.Avfc
PS: you cant tell people not to post on any article even if you are a wolves fan and this is your article, anyone can post their views on here.
