Wolves award Matt Murray a testimonial

In a lovely move by Wolves, Matt Murray who was recently forced to announce his retirement from the game, has been handed a testimonial.

'Although I have been here for 20 years, obviously I was blown away when Jez told me about the testimonial,' Matt Murray told Wolves Official Website.

He added: 'It was a complete surprise. I've said before how brilliant the club has been with me - they have already gone above and beyond. But to do that is just different class. It speaks volumes for the club and me and my family are delighted.'

Wolves CEO Jez Moxey also speaking to WOW added: 'Awarding Matt a testimonial is a fitting reward for an extremely talented goalkeeper and a very fine man.'

Wolves have also announced that Murray will continue in a coaching role with the club's Academy and is set to become an Ambassador for Wolves Community Trust.

The Wolves Community Trust is the club's official charity doing work in local schools and community projects.

Vital Wolves Comment: Thoroughly deserved and its great to see that Murray will be around the club in future years.
