Will Matt Jarvis ever get the call up to the England squad that so many of us Wolves fans believe he deserves?
Back at the beginning of September, we held a vote on Vital Wolves. The question was: Who will be the next Wolves player to get an England cap?
With Michael Mancienne featuring on a regular basis for England Under-21's and all other age groups before, many would have assumed he would have stormed the poll.
However the on loan from Chelsea defender only took 19% of the votes cast.
Instead it was 24-year-old Matt Jarvis who took the most votes, with a whopping 63%.
Poll Result:
Matt Jarvis 63%
Michael Mancienne 19%
Sylvain Ebanks-Blake 8%
Other 5%
Karl Henry 3%
Dave Jones 2%
But despite being tipped for a call-up over the last couple of months, he was overlooked for the Tuesday`s Euro 2012 qualifier against Montenegro.
"I probably am low profile, coming up through Gillingham to Wolves, we got promoted and now we`re trying to get ourselves established in the Premier League.
"I wasn`t in any of the Under-19s or 21s squads or anything." Jarvis told the Express & Star.
He continued: "Playing for England is something I`ve always dreamed of, it would be fantastic,"
"But nothing`s happened yet. I`ve had no feedback. No-one has phoned."
Vital Wolves Comment: The E&S believe he remains on Fabio Capello's radar, but I fail to see how that can be true if he has received no feedback?
I thought the FA put together a preliminary squad of around 35 players before each squad is announced? If Jarvis was in contention surely they would have contacted him at some stage?
