McCarthy hits back

The result might not have been what we were hoping for, but the performance still gave gaffer Mick McCarthy something talk about.

The media and ill-informed supporters from other clubs must have been gutted to see just ten fouls from Wolves against West Ham and not one card from referee Mark Clattenburg.

'I asked all the lads to go out and knock seven bells out of West Ham but we've ended up with no yellow cards,'

'Instead they played free-flowing football and were rampant for 45 minutes - what the hell were they playing at?' McCarthy joked talking to Wolves Official Website.

He added: 'We've been criticised for getting the team too wound up but that's gobbledegook,'

'I'm sure everyone flocked here to see a dozen yellow cards!

'But that's not the case with us.

Vital Wolves Comment: Perhaps we can now move on from this storm in a tea cup and be more interested in the points we collect rather than the cards?
