'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Mick was right says Hunt

Stephen Hunt has admitted that Wolves gaffer Mick McCarthy was right to omit him from the 18-man squad against West Ham.

Following his come back in the reserves during the week, many Wolves fans had hoped to see Stephen Hunt play some sort of role in the fixture last weekend, but Hunt wasn't included in the squad, which raised a few eyebrows.

Crete Wolf posted on our article comments: 'No Hunt on the bench? Has he a problem after the reserve game mid-week? That's all we need.'

While southbank60 added: 'Why wasn`t Hunt out there with his kit on? Perhaps he is not ready to play a full ninety minutes but surely he could have managed a thirty minute cameo appearance? He would have galvanised the team, put WHU on the defensive and given us a chance to score.'

Obviously we are all excited by finally getting to see Hunt playing for us, but the man himself is happy to be patient.

"To be honest. I was a million miles off last week and I think my adrenaline might have got me through the game, but the manager made the right decision in the end.' Hunt told the Express & Star.

He continued: "I had only had about a week-and-a-half`s training so it probably wasn`t enough. I`ve had a fair few niggles, so the manager made the right decision and is trying to look after me, which I appreciate.

"I`m delighted he`s willing to look after me to have me fit for the rest of the season.'

I doubt that Hunt was that philosophical but let's see what happens this weekend. I will be upset if Hunt is not on the bench at least and if Mouyokolo is excluded too. With Mancienne unavailable, there is a place for the defender (though I think he should be in the team anyway).

One swallow does'nt make a summer as the saying goes and one player does'nt make a team but we need something new to happen!.My biggest nightmare would be that Mick sees him as a left back and not a left winger!stranger things have happened this year. Will Jarvis be as effective on the right hand side?,he cant play both of them on the left can he????.Living abroad I am a little late in seeing some games and was well impressed with Blackpools 'assault' on Man city. They attacked them and gave them a really good game and a little more luck with a couple of things and they could well have won the game. That is what I want to see from my beloved Wolves over the next 4 weeks, lets have a go at them and give them a game.We are the Wolves!!!!!.
