'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Mick gets Damme tough

Mick McCarthy has told Jelle van Damme to get his head down and to shut up.

At the beginning of the month, the 27-year-old former Anderlecht defender revealed he was home sick and stated he wanted to return to his former club.

He recently told the Belgian press that he wanted to move back to Belgium as soon as possible.

"No-one can go anywhere in October, November or December so every single member of the squad needs to knuckle down and win us some games - get us some points until the window opens. McCarthy told the Express & Star.

He continued: "In some cases like with Greg Halford, they might go out [on loan] to get some football.

"But otherwise it`s January. And when we get there, one or two of them might want to go or I might want to change one or two around.

"That`s when we can do it.

"In the meantime it`s a case of shutting up and getting on with it."

Vital Wolves Comment: I struggle to be sympathetic to be honest, while the situation is understandably difficult, it shouldn't have come as surprise to him!

He knew his wife was pregnant when he signed for us four months ago. He probably knew then that she would stay in Belgium with their other child until she gave birth in November.

So why push for an immediate move?

100% agree with Mick here... Did van Damme think he could pop home after each game... If he's still genuinely whinging then tell him to feck off back to Belgium - and thanks for bloody wasting our time. PS And we'd better get every bloody penny back from Anderlecht
